A Supplement Manager App - Avoid Overlapping and Conflicting Ingredients

One pill makes you larger... one pill makes you small...
Chances are, if you ask somebody who just swallowed a fist full of supplements what they took, they won't know for sure. There's a good chance they can remember some of the key ingredients, but the reality is, unless they cataloged each and every supplement, they could be doing more harm than good, and never know it.
The reason I say this is because many supplements have more than one ingredient. which means there will be a lot of overlapping ingredients. Worse yet, some of the ingredients may cancel each other out... or even be harmful when taken together.
For example, if one of their supplements is a multi-vitamin, you can almost guarantee many of those ingredients are also contained in at least a few of the others.
While it's perfectly okay to have larger does of some vitamins that are easily passed through the body, some of these overlapping ingredients can build up toxic levels in your body. As overlapping ingredients add up, even ingredients that will pass through the body can put a strain on your liver and kidneys.
Like many of my ideas, this idea is based upon something that I've wanted for myself, but was surprised I couldn't find.
As a database developer for over 30 years, to me this is an easy App to design. It just takes a simple database.
The concept is simple, first, a central server stores the ingredients for nationally branded supplement, linked to the barcode. All a consumer needs to do is scan or enter the barcode for each item they take each day. After that, the App can show them the complete picture of all the combined ingredients. As easy as this sounds, I have yet to find such an App.
The icing on the cake would be that it could potentially link to a national database of known interactions and conflicting ingredients.
An even better App would be one that is either made by, or linked to a local pharmacy like CVS, Walgreens, etc., so it can also warn you when your supplements interact with your prescriptions.
