Pro Sports Teams... Without a Home Town

Wouldn't it be great if everyone had the opportunity to watch pro sports in their own home town?
As a New Yorker, I'm surrounded by professional sports teams. We not only have teams in every major sport, we have two in each, the Yankees and the Mets, Jets and Giants, Nicks and Nets, Islanders and Rangers. Technically, the Jets and Giants play in New Jersey, but you get the point. But what about people in places like Las Vegas, Montana, Idaho, or Alaska? The fact is there are tons of places without access to any major league sports.
The fact that there are so many places without professional sports teams means that there are millions of fans who would jump at the opportunity to catch a live home game, if they had the chance.
That's the inspiration for today's idea. I think it would be great to have at least one team in each league for a "Touring" team, that represents all of these untapped markets. They would truly be "America's Teams", and they would play all of their home games in a rotating list of host cities that don't have a team of their own.
Just think of the fans who would turn out to see the America's Team play the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, or the Dallas Cowboys in Las Vegas, Idaho, or Montana. These games could be played in colleges stadiums and arenas and they would surely be completely sold out weeks before the game. People in these cities are starving for pro sports, and this is the perfect way to give every city in the country a chance to host at least a few games each year.
